Using BA6110 to replace BA662

The VCA can either use the BA662 or BA6110 chips. The kit comes with BA6110, which means that Q1-4 are also required. If you decide to go with a BA662, do not solder in Q1-4! Also, each chip has a different pinout so use IC15B for BA6110 and IC15A for BA662.

I'm trying to replace a BA662 with the BA6110. I have the BA6110 data sheet and I know the pinout is not the same, but I do not have the BA662 data sheet so I don't know which pin goes where. Using the roland schematic, I tried several combinations that seemed logical and every other 9 pin combination there is to boot.

Then I read the quote above and figured maybe I need some additional components....like a transistor array? What's the deal?

p.s. This in a BOSS VB-2 vibrato guitar pedal.

The IC is being used as a VCO rather than a VCA. THere are two errors in the schematic. Pin 1 of the BA662 is shown twice. It is pin 5 that goes to ground. Pin 9 is shown going to +9v, but it really goes to the black up arrow (+6v) at the emmiter of Q7.

i think he's trying to use a BA6110 instead of BA662A for some other project than x0xb0x (a vibrato pedal i assume)

so....we can't discuss the BA6110 here unless it's being used in an x0x?
