I agree with the pointlessness comment. Even a flashing Xmas tree could conceivably be used as an ornament. One of the guys I went to uni with made his girlfriend a flashing LED heart as his first ever solder project, which is at least kinda cute.

Also, the other thing which made me laugh is the way this kit looks. It reminded me of the old hobby mag kits because it's clearly been designed by someone who doesn't have strong visual design skills. Even if the circuit itself was BANNED useful, the endearingly amateurish (and slightly tatty) way it looks is still funny. IMHO.

Sadly, the (my) world would be a much better place if I threw out more of what I ignore... Or at least didn't ignore so much of what I don't throw out.

At the very least, that Christmas tree (and to a lesser extent, the Smiley) would be ravaged for LEDs first. :P
