How to create a Geber file

Post by mrroboto »

Hi, I have a device invented using an arduino uno, its working fine right now and I wanted to know how to create a gerber file to be able to manufacture this device. I am totally new to this and I'm trying really hard to understand the language, please bear with me. I appreciate all the input.

You'll need to create a schematic and PCB description in a program capable of doing that kind of thing. Cadsoft's Eagle is one of the most common circuit layout programs, but KiCad and geda are also popular.

Depending on the program, you'll use different menu commands to create the Gerbers that you'll send to a board house. In Eagle, it's done using the CAM processor.
