Product 1828 Type A USB Female Connector

Post by innerlight »

I just got a Type A female USB connector (Product 1828). It says it press fits into the plastic holder. It does not. When I put it in it just falls back out (loose). Is there a way to put this together where it stays in tight?

Can you post a picture of the connector and it's cable?

Could you post a picture of your connector? (I've seen the one on the product page)

Try putting everything on a cable.

The plug should make a friction fit on the cable, pushing the shroud up against the terminator and holding it in place.

If you connect the cable while, I think if you disconnect the USB plug jack comes out from the case.Without resistance.

Same problem with the male part - something is certainly wrong with this "design"

hiya, we just grabbed some and it looks like the plastic casing is a little bigger this time than last! we'll contact the factory but don't expect to get replacements for a few weeks at least. for now, you can perhaps use epoxy to make the connector fit in better. if you can't use the connectors, email support@adafruit for a refund.

All right. Please reply by e-mail if there is contact from the factory.
Please have this time to refund.
