So I bought some stuff on a website that looked legit, they had customer reviews on bizrate.com and it had a "verasign secured" thing.
So not 10 days later still NOTHING. I got 1 e-mail from the site but it was just a "purchase receipt".
Anyway I called them,e-mailed them, left messages for their never around "live support" and NOTHING.
When you call it says "please hold all our representatives are busy" but in reality there are none...
Not even a e-mail reply.
No package has arrived and I never received a tracking number e-mail like it said I would.
So I am going to call the bank but what do I tell them? Just say they never shipped my stuff or what? Does the bank need to contact that company because they won't be able too.
Is it better to be truthful with the bank, or make something up to get it done?
Suggestions?

Well, the 'verisign' thing is just a logo that ANYONE could fake. Reviews on a web site could have been written by someone who works for the company. So neither of those things proves a thing.
Your bank may be able to help - but you need to move quickly and you CERTAINLY need to be utterly truthful!

IIRC, you're supposed to allow 4 weeks for mail-order stuff to arrive before you're required to be offered an explanation of why it hasn't shown up yet. Amazon and Digikey and the like have really spoiled customers. Ten days is nothing... (yeah, it tends to shock me too when I get the "your order has shipped" over a week after the order was placed, rather than in less than 24 hours. But it's not THAT uncommon.)

Ok I figured there were some rules to this kind of thing, although the site does claim "if you can buy it, it is in stock."
But the side does say "orders shipped in 24-48 hours" and it has been 10 days...

In general I think the best thing to do is stop the account and get the bank to look for suspicious account activity, usually companies like visa and amex stop the account automatically if they think something strange is going on.

BTW, do you know that they've actually charged your credit card yet? (or did you use other mechanism to pay?)

Looks way too complicated and says it takes them like 30 days to do anything...
Bank would be easier.
