Ok... maybe I'm being really selfish. But now that the x0xb0x is on it's way to me, it's got me thinking... would the brainiac Limor or someone else "kit out" a TR606?
Would be very nice I'm sure you would all agree? Or perhaps it's too difficult a project to source out the needed components?
Whatchathink?

What about a 606b0x?

Yeah, if the good lady is going to be thinking about drum stuff, I'd much rather see a DIY midi drum step sequencer sans sounds... like a 606 or 808 seq, except without sounds, spits out midi for like 16 dif note numbers.creekree wrote:a 606 clone would be sooo unnecessary since you can get a 606 for 150-220 euros or so.
There's lots of DIY drum bits out and around, along with midi->trig converters, so this seems like something that's really missing.
The ER1 would be *great* for this (since they're dirt cheap used these days), but it has some synchro issues for the midi note outputs from it's patterns, *sigh*.

Yeah, it would be great if someone would do an x0xb0x-style kit for this project.kokoon wrote:why 606 and not 808?
But I'd still like to see a DIY digital drum step sequencer available solo...

mash up all up!
the 606 is pretty cheap on ebay... yer right... I was of course thinking of a modded 606, but I have to agree the 808 kicks all over the 606 {pun intended}... I love... I've been looking at that 808 CLONE CONCEPT as well. A full kit would be choice. Hell why not an 808/606 [modded] b0x

Re: What about a 606b0x?
It is true tr 606 cost approximately 200 it is not convenient " from this point of view " to work in order to create a clone of the 606…. but….
I am owner of tr 606 tb 303 and x0xb0x and I would to have a drum x0xb0x for having sequencer with advance functions and a midi like a x0xb0x with firmware s0kkos!
a new 606 with sequencer advanced new and more big memory and some mod. .like bd tune pitch decay to snare decay or tune and allother mods created for tr the 606 in a box separated buyable separately
best regards!!
and acid for all!

Re: What about a 606b0x?
if it's just sending MIDI notes (not generating the drum sounds itself) then a x0xb0x with a bigger CPU could do this (i think)
the drum pattern editor would be part of the firmware
