Powerboost defective
How can I get a refund? I have re-ordered a unit (ie cross-ship 692869-3245198613) and need to get a refund on the defective unit. I ordered it on 1/12/2015 # 680070-7419441477 ($14.95). It worked for a day, now it gets very very hot. After re-looking, the solder joints are good, but the +ve and -ve are showing they are connected somewhere. I have pictures showing the clean solder joints if necessary.

Thank you.
The joints do look good. What resistance do you see between the + and - pads?

Re: Powerboost defective
Nothing else was added, just the 2 components I mentioned before. It was coupled with the solar charger kit I bought from you, It worked fine for a day and a bit, powered my Pi just fine until it broke.

Re: Powerboost defective
I understand that. My question was for the sake of double-checking the cause of failure and correlating it with other failures we've seen.
You mentioned seeing a low resistance. What was the value?

From your first post:
That sounds like a known issue, and if you can give me the resistance between +ve and -ve I can probably approve a replacement.wellsa wrote:After re-looking, the solder joints are good, but the +ve and -ve are showing they are connected somewhere.

The number is not constant, about 7 is the norm, pic attached.
