(if you want links to specific projects done with Ada stuff - including a pretty nifty Lan of things used to reduce work on an off the grid homestead...I can provide, and you're free to use them or content here if you like)
I contacted UPS (who is here about twice a week normally anyway) and now I'm going to get my packages on Monday (but who knows with these guys, they are consistent in screwing up in this area - they haven't forgotten their anti-union labor practice fight here - tire tracks on boxes are the norm).
Here's text of an online chat with them. Makes no sense to send a postcard to a "bad" address - and you've got my email and phone number anyway. As I mentioned, >$13 each for boxes that weigh under a pound and could both be shipped for half that with USPS, who at least *gets them here in one piece and on time* is nuts. You really need to fix this.
What can I say? Do you even care about customer service? There's no way to call you, no place to post this other than here, and it's happening frequently with this shipper (an not just for things from from AdaFruit). I'd love to keep supporting your work in making nice things and supporting software available, but if this doesn't get better pretty quick - it's not like Ada is the only place to get this hardware (or the cheapest). In my case, it's hours of my life I can't get back, that matter most.Josseline Pineda: Hi, this is Josseline Pineda. I'll be happy to assist you.
Dpouglas: How can I help you get the packages from Adafruit to me? Do you need the tracking info?
Josseline Pineda: Just a moment while I review your tracking information.
Dpouglas: BTW, finger fumble, my name is Douglas L Coulter. Adafruit has my address correct, my phone # and email correct, in the email they sent me with the order info. I can re-iterate if necessary.
Josseline Pineda: We say that we have contacted you because we sent a postcard to your address. The package was placed on hold since we were unable to complete this delivery due to a incorrect address, right now it is being held at our facility available for pick up. Can you pick this package up?
Dpouglas: It's quite a few miles from me, and it's not just one package. I made two orders, one on monday and one on tuesday, which were originally scheduled for wed and thursday delivery, you rescheduled both to yesterday. It's a 50+ mile drive for me, and it's not like you didn't charge me for shipping. I want my stuff!
Dpouglas: Do you need my correct address? It's 297 Reed Hill RD, Floyd, VA, 24091, phone is 540-763=3253, my email is [email protected], and how in the heck does sending a postcard to an address you think is wrong make sense anyway?
Josseline Pineda: We send a postcard through the regular mail advising that we were unable to deliver this package, since the USPS usually has the most updated database on customer addresses, most of the times the postcard is received and this is how we try to notify people that we couldn't deliver the package.
Dpouglas: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/proc ... 0391820193 is the other one. I normally get ups (and fedex and usps) about 1-2 times a week.
Josseline Pineda: I can resend the packages there. Your packages are now scheduled to be delivered on 05/18/15 by end of day at:
DOUGLAS L. COULTER
C-LAB
297 REED HILL RD
FLOYD VA 24091
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Dpouglas: I suppose not. Kinda late for >$13 each shipping from NYC to VA. for packages that weigh less than a pound.
