broken potentiometer

Hello,

While assembling a project with the 20x4 backlight LCD, one of the legs of the potentiometer came off the component at the corner of the housing. I don't think I can reliably solder the leg back on to the component. There was no stress or excessive heat would have caused this defect. I was hoping to see if I can get a replacement under warranty. Thanks.

I did that earlier this morning and they sent me a response email. The email said

"Thanks for note! Our colleagues in the engineering and technical support forums will assist you with this type of question. They are also able to authorize replacements if necessary."

I am not sure which way to turn to get a replacement.
