defective product discontinued

Hi, I purchased http://www.adafruit.com/products/1237 last year and it's been working fine until last night. It suddenly began melting in the car which could have resulted in a dangerous situation had it not been discovered so soon. I'm not sure if Adafruit can do anything to assist me but the cable no longer works so I figured I would check just in case.

Our warranty/return policy is 30 days. So if it was purchased last year, it would not be covered.
