since it includes it's own icsp circuit the minipov3 is a great little platform for hacking. i cut up a female header and soldered pieces of it in the r1-r8 and sensor positions on a minipov3 board to make it easier to play with. if i can find a right angle header in the junk box i'll solder it to the pads on the bottom of the front edge of the board to bring out ports A & D.
i also added a barrel jack to plug in a 5v switching wall wart. the center pin fit in the + pad on the board and i used a short piece of wire to connect ground.
by the way, 5v switching supplies are really great for mcu projects since you don't have to provide your own regulation. i notice that ladyada sells a 9v switcher, but not 5v.
