Can i use a different microcontroller for the minipov3?

If you want to build your own board and do a DIY version then you can use any microcontroller with enough pins. However you would need to program it from scratch and make the design compatible with the pinout of your chip. And at that point it is debate able if it is still even a "MiniPOV". Hope that helps.
P.S. If you do decide to design and code your own version the people of these forums my be able to assist you in making it work, but it wont be "supported" in the same way the kit version is. Just a heads up!
