Hey, I got my miniPOV yesterday, and assembled it and programmed it without a hitch, great kit guys.
I had illusions of writing a fairly long message in text using this device, and swinging it around on a string or something. Is there a place I can see how other people might have done this, or does anyone have any suggestions? My arm isin't long enough.
Thanks!!
Matt.

Re: MiniPOV Vehicle/Swing ideas
mine is barely legible when swinging as fast as my little arm can swing back and forth...with only 'I LOVE YOU' being written...(sadly wifey was not impressed) =)
I haven't tried mounting it to an armature or spinner of any kind...

huck, try taking a photo, that works better. you can set it on a table and then 'swing' the camera while taking a long exposure. takes a couple tries!

Re: MiniPOV Vehicle/Swing ideas
this is from last year's maker faire.
bicycle wheel turned by a fan motor with a skate wheel attached to its shaft.
there are two minipov3 boards here and there're a couple of hall effect sensors involved, too, but one board with a suitable delay before repeating the message would work as well.
