I built a minipov 2 from the kit. I realize now that life would be easier if I had gotten the 3 but here I am.
I am getting the sequential flash, so I think I have assembled the kit porperly. My PC didn't have a parallel port so I scrounged up a PCI parallel card.
I believe my entire problem in that I am running XP 64. GiveIO will not install, with the BAT file giving the following error:
starting giveio... start failed (status 1275):
This driver has been blocked from loading
(avrdude-gui install of giveIO yields the same error)
My research seems to say the it is a 32 bit driver and isn't compatible with XP 64.
Is there any workaround that will enable me to actually program my minipov 2 or did I assemble a sequentially blinking paperweight?

sounds like a bad driver do you have access to any machines with a parallel port?

Re: MiniPOV 2 xp64 giveio issue
thanks for the response...
It works fine on my workstation at work, so I think I diagnosed (32 bit vs 64 bit) correctly. I'm going to set this one aside and mess around with some other stuff on the bench...
