After having built the minipov long ago I've come back to it hopefully with the intent to modify it just for fun, I was trying to look up information regarding the science behind "persistence of vision" and I"m just curious how one was able to arrive at this number of 400hz?A good POV frequency is around 400Hz
I've been trying to look up information on this topic and I"m failing. I'm finding very different point of views on the subject, some stating one needs to simply be above a threshold of 10hz. The science seems to be flawed as the "persistence of vision" seems to be a debunked and outdated model that only those related to the film industry seem to adhere and yet something seems to be at work here in which there is certainly a lower threshold for which one cannot go below.
If anyone has any additional information on just how persistence of vision works I'd be very appreciative. But more so I"m really very interested in how this 400hz value was determined. I've read some other sources which state 250hz is optimal. There seems to be a great amount of varying thought on the subject and yet I haven't discovered how anyone comes to such a conclusion. Televisions operate at 60hz or 120hz and films work at 24 frames per second or sometimes 48 yet neither of these sources is moving. Does anyone know of any good websites where perhaps I could learn more about this subject?
