Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board fails often

Post by chris08 »

Hi,

I have a nasty problem where all my boards pass initially (work fine) and then some fail at a later date (voltage on the IO pins go to 0.8V and red LED does not flash). Do you have ideas on what the problem is or a temporary fix. Any information will help.

Also I have seen similar problems like this on other forums. Is there any updates on the issue that causes it.

Thank you

Are these the amplifier versions of the boards? There is a problem with those. We have removed them from the store until we can fix the problem. Meanwhile, we are offering refunds for the Audio FX boards with amplifiers. If those are what you have, please email [email protected] with a link to this thread for a refund.

I am powering it through the Vin and GND pins using a controlled power supply set at 3.3V and current limited at 0.5A

something ive noticed, but i have no idea what it means - when people power from a bench supply, the soundfx's break. but if you use batteries its always ok

Is there any way you can send me a BOM of this board? So I can go through and check parts

Sorry I mean with actual part numbers so for example I can look up a cap and see its rated at 16V
