Hello everyone
I've built 3 x0xb0x during the last year, all of them working fine, except one seems to have a broken CPU. I've changed the CPU from another x0xb0x and it worked fine, to make shure where the problem is. So I came to the conclusion that I need a new CPU, I tried to contact the guy in China who sold me the kits but he doesn't reply mails anymore. Where can I get a CPU theese days?

Re: x0xb0x CPU
who is the guy who sold you the kits?
there's a chance that your other cpus don't have a bootloader too, which isn't terribly bad, but means that you will be stuck with using whatever the firmware is on them, and won't be able to change it easily
as for where to buy a new CPU - willzyx in taiwan, x0xsh0p in EU

Re: x0xb0x CPU
Thanks, the x0xb0x were from technologytransplant.com
Out of 5 Kits I bought there only one CPU is not working.
Flashing the CPU seems a bit complicated, so I'd rather check how much it is to buy one chip if there's a way to do that, but it seems complicated too

Re: x0xb0x CPU
more of the "famous" TT kits
those are known to lack bootloaders
usually, the x0x CPU is supposed to have a small bootloader, which is meant to make it possible to change the firmware just via USB and computer
so if the firmware got corrupted or something - you just run the x0x in "bootload" mode and it can be rescued
if the bootloader itself gets corrupted, or if there isn't one (like in your case, probably) you can still fix the stuff, but this requires some "tools" - specifically, an AVR programmer, which will be able to put the bootloader onto the chip, and from there, using the bootloader you can put firmware via USB
http://willzyx.com/
http://x0xsh0p.de/
http://x0xsource.com/ (in the US, no idea if they would sell just a cpu, you can ask)
now, you can also buy the atmega162 from any electronics shop, but it'll be "empty" and you'll still have to use a programmer device to put the bootloader on

Or, you could get the x0xlarge upgrade cpu while you are at it!

Re: x0xb0x CPU
Cheers. Yes I was wondering if anyone sells the working CPU or has a spare one.
If I 'd have the opportunity to burn CPU myself, I'd probably do a bunch of them
Still considering what to do

That's perfect, can you send them to Germany?
