Q3 and Q4 installed the other way around, hopefully theyre not damaged,
Will desolder them and try to install as they should!

Re: n0nx0x2 build (with regular xox kit. gate problem?)
And there is sound!
Now going to play a little before going to bed.
Will be back tomorrow with pictures and recorded sounds :)
Thanks again for helping me out

Re: n0nx0x2 build (with regular xox kit. gate problem?)
first real pattern I programmed
takes a while to get used to the sequencer
already love the machine, great stuff!
can't upload an mp3 here apparently so I'll find another way to share a sound

i use soundcloud.com (for sounds only) or box.com (for all kinds of media (or not) files)

Already followed you on soundcloud (Im Sunspot)
Your tuning app works perfectly by the way:)
Somewheree this week I'll share sounds and pics

and now with a pic
fit the knobs on after installing a 'dustcover' inside to prolong the lifetime of the knobs

Re: n0nx0x2 build (problem solved, finished!)
finally found the time to upload something (actually finally thought of it...)
just a snippet from a live set, but a part with the n0nx0x2 at it's best (solo)
http://we.tl/sZD1MUo2S3
I noticed one thing: sometimes it seems as if out of nowhere there is a volume boost/drop (not in this recording)
any ideas of what that could be? I haven't checked if this is also with the diy distortion disconnected (mxr distortion+ clone, you'll hear that too in the soundclip I uploaded!)
you also hear a little crackling when I turn the resonance knob. apparently i got a fauty one so james send me a replacement:)

Re: n0nx0x2 build (problem solved, finished!)
i've had this resonance pot noise too (in fact, i have it right now on a new pot)
my impression is that it happens when you haven't used the x0x for a few days or more
i suggest you turn the resonance a few times back and forward till the "noise" goes away.. do this before recording
at least that works for me
i can't comment on the volume issue, as i need to hear it, or a better description at least
it could be due to the noisy resonance pot too, since the feedback level (which depends on the resonance pot) significantly affects the output gain of the VCF... but this is just one theory
nice distortion in there ;]

Re: n0nx0x2 build (problem solved, finished!)
the trick with the resonance knob doesn;t work for me unfortunately
I still encountered the volume problem and I've made a recording. in the wav files I also noticed DC offset so I included a picture too. I hope you have the time to check it out.
2 small recording samples 1 of the volume dropping, and one of the volume rising again
here's a download link:

Re: n0nx0x2 build (problem solved, finished!)
checked it
it doesn't look like the volume is dropping, but more like the filter cutoff drops slightly (which gives the impression)
it's hard to tell if it's the filter, because there's no resonance in the clip
you could check if my theory is correct by running a pattern with normal (non-accented) notes, set the cutoff, resonance, and decay high, envmod and accent to zero, and let the pattern play.. if you hear a volume drop - but the cutoff (resonant frequency) doesn't change - then it's a "volume drop" indeed
as for the DC offset - well, i don't see anything crazy in your recording, so there's nothing to worry about IMO
an easy way to expose the DC offset is to play a pattern with short notes, at a fast-ish tempo, and set the waveform switch in the middle (so it's neither saw nor square) then listen for bassy pops - those are the result of the DC offset being amplified in the VCA with the volume envelope
(and btw, there is a DC-offset-adjust mod somewhere in the forum)

Re: n0nx0x2 build (problem solved, finished!)
I'll have to check that, thanks for thinking with me here:)
maybe first I should install that new reconance knob
