Modularising it?

Postby Fiercefish » Thu Mar 04, 2010 8:53 am

Anyone brought out stuff to jacks for modular integrations?

I'm thinking of bringing out
Both waveforms
Envelope out
Accent out
Slide out

And
VCF CV in
VCF audio in
VCF FM in (for audio FM)

Anyone done these? Anything else worth doing? I plan on trying to get it to work nice with my modular so any tips from others would be welcome!

Cheers

Daren

Edit - any way of protecting CV inputs?
She may not look like much but she’s got it where it counts, kid. I’ve made a lot of special modifications myself.

1k protection resistor should do the job on cv ins, however of course this wont work well if the cv in is pitch

For protection from negative and overload volatage use 9v zener diode . A 914 diode from the ground will only protect it from negative volatge. Plus the resistor as stated above is the standard with cv inputs.

Its just a VC synth just it has a half power supply , so as long as you stay with-in the x0x voltage range all is cool.

Test the diodes on a breadboard . It works , its in the "Art of Electronics" book..

x0xio is more than what I need, cool kit though.

Mainly I plan on using the x0xb0x with the modular so I think I will stick to:-

Waveform outputs
VCF CV in
EG CV out

I think those will give me some cool options, I think I have worked out how to do them-

Waveforms pick up from switch, diode for protection?
VCF CV via base of Q10, 100k resistor and diode to jack?
Env out from R61, diode for protection?

Anyone got any additional comments/info?

Diode protection on the inputs is a must.
On the outs I'd say just a resistor or a blocking 100nf cap, no diode.
The CV out on the x0x is an 'out' , just copy what has been done there. :)
