I would also take a blank one if there are no SMD components to solder ? (ah i guess there is one SMD component right?)

What components do I need? It would be very helpful if you could post a list with all necessary components...?

Otherwise please sign me in for a kit or a built one :)

Thanks :)

actually, while on the subject: can you clarify what the deal is with the 10 uH inductor and the NPN in place of the resonator on the schematic?

the original schematics
had an npn instead of a resonator
which i think was done because eagle was acting wierd

k, that makes sense. Any idea about the inductor? Resistor size ones are few and far between and the silk screen is for a standard 1/4 watt resistor

i couldnt find the schematics youre referring to
but inductors are often used
to clean up the power supply for ADC Vcc

Does the bootloader need to be recompiled for the new chip or are the chips code compatible? What about fuse settings? (I am an AVR novice coming from a microchip PIC world, be gentle)

I just had a quick look in the code and it needs to be changed. I assume the actual boot loading code can be left intact, but there are lots of defines and constants that need to be changed and the fuses also needs to be set correctly to get the bootloader to work as intended.

Thats what I figured. Anyone feeling ambitious? I'll assemble boards for any coders that need them stuffed..

Since the ATMEGA162-16pu has a 11-17week lead time currently i would really like to pick one of these up so i can start porting the code. It's not for sale on the soma circuits website yet and I have been watching for a month. I'd like to get one unstuffed.
