yup. They are all USBASP clones and should work fine (they list the 2561 as a compatible chip) with AVRdude

currently only me and Altitude have these
mine doesn't have a bootloader so i basically can't do anything with it untill i put a bootloader on it

There are news on this page (alive march 2013):
http://somaticcircuits.net/

But sadly:
Vx - x0xb0x CPU upgrade.
Upgrade your x0xb0x with this plug and play
daughter baord. Loaded with the standard
x0xb0x.hex firmware or the arduino variation.
Code your dream sequencer.

out of stock

from another thread:

You said you want to build your own CPU-kit. When will it be available? (in days, month or years? :D)

Well he tends to disappear every now and then the past 1,5 years ;)

Anyhow.. I mailed with him yesterday and he's planning on putting all the needed info in the community, open source.

Altitude: i think i'll have the programmer on monday (it's in the post office)

and some good news: i got a Korg ES-1, so i can at least test the x0x midisync against a "proper" clock source (both in master and slave modes)

Pish: i wouldn't rush to buy one from textile
two guys ordered a total of 6 cpumod boards from him, last year, and they still haven't arrived today :x
while mine arrived, but it has no bootloader and how it's a great amount of trouble for me to put one

Has anyone got a full one then we can make our own? Id happily help put some kits together, maybe do a group buy/kick start. Then open source files.

Altitude: got it

i think the headers are sticking out too much and the x0x case doesn't quite close
otherwise it works, there is solid sign of a bootloader too (even tho i haven't tried flashing anything yet)

EDIT: i shortened them, now it fits nicely

i just tested flashing with avrdude via USB
avrdude -p atmega2561 -c stk500v2 -P COM3 -b 57600 -e -U flash:w:x0xb0x2.hex

also.. if anything should be drastically changed about the new cpu/OS - now is the time
stuff like OS-update-via-midi and new serial protocol and such
