Anyone heard from Brian Castro?

Postby Computer Controlled » Wed Jul 27, 2011 2:24 am

I e-mailed him some days ago about the aluminum casing for his mod kit, but have not heard back. Anyone been in contact with him recently?

I've heard from him by direct email about 3-4 weeks ago. He seems to be extremely busy with other things these days, as the people waiting for the final instructions for assembling his x0xi0 kits with his custom x0xb0x PCBs can attest...

He must be busy! I'm just curious how much his aluminum cases are. So if anyone here happens to know, feel free to chime in =o]

Dan, are you still doing releases on Defective?

Brian sent a message in April to the people who had bought his custom x0xb0x boards, saying "The Custom Enclosure Kits will be available as soon as the documents are completed. The price will be $260."

We've never technically stopped releasing things, we just slowed down a bit (to one or two every decade ;-)). At this point, both Bump (label co-owner) and I are too consumed with other things, so doubt there will be much new anytime soon. Though I did just tell myself this past week that I have to get my *ss in gear and create some new music....

A lot of the documentation and calibration is missing so most custom PCB users haven't built their kits afaik.

I have sent an e-mail to Brian to have some explanations about missing doc and if it's possible to build x0xi0 with custom's pcb. I'm waiting for his news and let you know asap ...
