Any help would be very much appreciated...

Quick way:find a friend with a Pc and use the c0ntr0l app.

I have a Pc workstation I got for free at work to use all the Pc only synth editors, otherwise it just rests in the corner :)

Just letting you guys know that I'll be selling my x0x #321 soon.

But don't fret--I'll continue to update x.glitched.org for the foreseeable future.

When the day comes to shut 'er down, I'll just transfer all the files to whomever wants to maintain the site.

Thanks.

Got my x0xb0x updated with SokkOS yesterday.

It's more fun in a box than I'd ever imagined! :)

The best part is that it wasn't snus inside the box. It was hand picked 2SA733Ps

Sorry, no. It was more of a repair session since a couple of the visitors had some minor problems.

I also learned that you can switch the 733p's on the fly with the sequencer running in the x0xb0x without damage... I would NOT recommend this to anyone though... It was neither me nor zthee who did this. It was quite interesting to actually directly hear the difference between bad and good 733p's. Also, changing Q28 back and forth between a -O and a -GR had an apparent effect to the sound of the square wave. Please, do not try this yourself!

Interesting. So I guess you just socketed the 733p's?
Also, what do you mean, "changing Q28 back and forth between a -O and a -GR"? (I didn't build my now-sold x0x, so I don't know what that means.)

The person who demonstrated this has every component with more than two legs socketed, yes. Personally I do not rely on socketed transistors hanging upside down...

Q28 is in the VCO, it has been debated whether or not this component beeing a 2SK30A-O, as in the original, or a -GR or -Y, has any effekt on the sound of the square wave in 303's and its clones. It might depend on whether or not you have matched the 733p's, I do not know. But there was a noticeable difference to my ears in his x0xb0x. I use an -O-type in my latest and a J201 in the first one. The J201 has similar specs to the -O.

Wow!!!

That is amazing!

I'm really digging the real time sequencing + slaved to Midi!!! Real tight.

Great work!

Hey all.

Had a huge jam last night & did some pretty spiffy things with the xox, but the coolest was having the xox play a TB-303 via CV, and pan em left and right for the fattest stereo 303. sounded massive.

It almost seemed that the xox was fatter than the tb, while the tb was somewhat more chirpy at times... still sounded wicked tho.

I've uploaded my xox with sokkos, and am really digging it.. this turns a real cool machine into a banned... but i've seem to come across a small bug.. and I'm not sure if it is the OS, or something else.

If slaved to midi, and then go to pattern edit, and the start bashing out notes on the xox real time.. often after quite a while of bashing out notes, the xox will then go to step time edit mode.. sometimes it can be after two hits, sometimes 20.. It's not the end of the world, but it means i have to press next to get to the end of the pattern to be able to drop back to 'real time' recording.

It will also do this if i'm entering in accents real time, or slides..

Can anyone verify this, or is it something else i'm missing?

Cheers.

Mike
