hi robert,
can you just clarify a few of things please. is the silver/black image you posted classed as 1 colour? in that case what does 2 colour look like? are the front/back/underside all brushed aluminium? and finally, you originally mention wooden templates for the sides are included, but then say we can choose the wood and colour ourselves - does it actually include the wooden sides themselves?
thanks
derek

no problem derek,
*the image that i posted would be considered a 1 color because its only black on the aluminum. a two color would just have another color added to the existing one color... (white is not a color and cannot be used)
*yes its all natural aluminum on all sides and as for the wood templates they are just stickers that have the template of the enclosure opening on the sides. you will put the sticker on the wood and trace it out and cut with your choice of wood and then stain them whatever color you want.
hope that helps clear up some stuff for you.
thanks,
lowell

thanks for that, but can you explain a little/add pics of the wooden sides. what sized pieces of wood are required, and then what is needed to get them to fit - just a saw? a router? i imagined that the sides would be recessed in some way? how are they then attached to the unit? i don't want a nice aluminium case spoiled by my poor attempts at carpentry!
thanks

[ kroutshev x2 - bcbox full mod ] one box, please.
Very brilliant stuff but can you show how mount the wood templates and if it's possible to deal with bcbox to ship together i/o mods and boxes. I don't know if it's possible ??
I'm living in France.
Thanks.

robert lowell wrote:.:introducing the xcasex x0xb0x concept case... I've put some time in doing the legwork and have gotten a quote on producing some custom aluminum x0xb0x cases. Graphics will be 2 color Black/Red and will resemble the design below the concept. Its completly designed and ready to be produced. Its now up to you users for some input and try and make this happen...
.:attn ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: x0x'ers again...
Why:.
.:Many reasons and counting....Because that stock case just isn't gig worthy. Also moding
is a pain. With my case there would be extra room for additional pots & other mods
(excuse the lowsy photochop, not shown in picture concept.) It would look absolutely phenomenal.
Simply put, the x0xb0x deserves a better case!!! Also an on/off switch hole placement
will be pre-cut in the design as well. Sturdy .063 aluminum construction for a heavy feel.
Installation:.
.:Simply you would take your pcbs out of the stock case and bolt them to
the new case. (A little moding with different sized standoffs for the top pcb
might be the most you'd have to do.)
* Case would include ------------------------------------------------------------
x1 : .063 (previously quoted .040) Aluminum Case with 2 color satin finish graphics on natural aluminum with removable bottom plate
x1 : (L & R) Wood Side Templates - (This way user saves cost on shipping & can use any type of wood and stain whatever color wanted )
x1 : mini on/off switch
x1 : set of hardware to mount wood sides and bottom removable cover
Cost??? Cost would depend on how many people would be interested in the case...
The more people interested the more of a possibility that this will become a reality + cheaper the case will become.
Below is a Price Breakdown for Stock Case...
-------------------------------------------
x5 = $199.00 each
x10 = $128.75 each
x25 = $95.00 each
x50 = $75.50 each
x100 = $65.95 each
------------------------------------------
BcBox I/O Mod x0xb0x case
------------------------------------------
1 color - x25 = $96.99 each
2 color - x25 = $105.00 each
------------------------------------------
+ Projected Time frame: I'd like to see how much interest I get before nailing that down but its a 2-3 week lead time for them to manufacture the cases.
*does not include shipping costs those tbd by where you live.
If your interested post your user name & how many you'd like total and i will keep track on this first page. (ie: [ robert lowell x2 - stock ] or [ robert lowell x2 - bcbox i/o mod ])
