Ok, I've built the board and get the green led flashing ok.
if i turn off the board and connect midi then switch on the led flashes red twice then goes off.
if i turn on the board then connect midi the green light stays flashing. when I try to connect to the board to calibrate the led flashes briefly red twice then goes back to green flashing. I understand this shows that the board is receiving.
the software then reports that it failed to find any boards.
I've checked all my joints and am sure there is no problem with the midi side of things as I use my edirol Ua101's midi every day with no problems.
any idea what might be wrong? does this mean that the board is receiving but not transmitting?
Failed to find any MIDIsense Boards

Yeah ive connected my master keyboard to the input on the interface and get activity lights. I also get midi data showing in midiox.
still nothing from the midisense tho, so for some reason its not transmitting. I've reheated all the joints to make sure there are no dry ones. The only thing I havent done is test the resistors with a meter. Will try this later.

ah, the socket doesnt have a pin there thought it was meant to be like that!
Doh! will get a new socket, thanks for your help!
BTW im developing controllers for ableton live performance and interactive inflatable sculptures, will keep you posted.
When are the other midisense boards coming out? really want to try proximity sensors.

once thing you can do 'for now' is solder a wire up through the hole to the chip and wedge it against the pin. sucks that the socket was broken. i can send a new one but its probably easy to do a quick fix than remove all 27 pins of the socket w/o damaging the PCBsoapdodger wrote: Doh! will get a new socket, thanks for your help!
