my current solution for using 1 sensor on assignable inputs

Post by nym »

in my Midisense ADi/o i plan to use 1 sensor alternately for all 6 inputs.

unless i find a better, easily implemented switch, i plan on using a patch-bay-esque method of connecting the sensor to the specified input.

imagine this: it would look a little like the side of a home cable modem.

1 phone jack is the link to the sensor, in this case a Sharp GPD120
6 other phone jacks nearby would correspond to the Midisense inputs, 1-6.
each of the 6 inputs would be configured to a different midi cc. the input-phone jacks would (inside the box) lead to corresponding Midisense inputs

to make a connection, i'd have one of those nice coily phone cords. i'd plug one end into the sensor jack and the other end into whichever input i'd want.

_______________

1 - is this a clumsy method? more trouble than its worth?
2 - is there a switch that you think would do the trick better?
