adio board = 3 wires per sensor. ground wire question

Post by nym »

howdy. doing some research on grounding after seeing that the sharp GPD120's middle wire is the GROUND wire.

reading on wikipedia and i learned the following.
Voltage is a differential quantity, which appears between two points having some electrical potentials. To measure the voltage of a single point, a reference point must be selected to measure against. This common reference point is called ground and considered to have zero voltage. This signal ground may or may not actually be connected to a power ground.
so - in midisense ADio, is the signal ground connected to the power ground?

the reason i ask is that i have tons of phr-2 connectors lying around. i'd need phr-3 connectors in my brainchild. i'd just like to know so i could order some phr-3 housings and terminals now.

yes each analog input has a3 wires - 5V ground and 'analog in'
pretty much every analog sensor has 3
sensors with 2 are almost always resistive sensors
