i am currently back at the state i was in about a month ago with this.

when i last attempted to install midisense using the actual hex file a couple weeks ago, the software froze after upload, before verify. verification froze on 0.

hoping that it was just taking a while and would complete on its own, i left for a few hours. when i came back it was in the same state. the program became unresponsive.

a couple weeks later, i am trying again with the same problem. the software freezes upon post-firmware upgrade verification

here's a link to my current debug view:

note that firmware install appears successful

hmm, what does the midi led do?
can you post the debug log when you try to connect?
if you send me back the chip i can reprogram it with the factory code.

midi light only flashes (red) while updating the firmware. otherwise, no midi activity. i will post the log file as soon as i can. after receiving your comment on these 2 results (midi light and connect logfile) in case of an easier solution,

i will put the microcontroller in the mail to you for reprogramming. your address is:

yes? i know you moved recently, hopefully this is an up to date address.

i don't suppose we could do a mid-air swap, could we? you send me a programmed one while mine is on its way to you? i understand if no, but i'm very anxious to start assembling this thing. i am demonstrating this as a class assignment in a class called Sound and Vision at George Mason University.

later in the class, there is an assignment involving max msp and jitter, as well as circuit bending and instrument building. i would love to have my midisense up and running by then and encourage others to get/build the kit.

in general its probably a bad idea to post addresses in a forum. i can send you a new chip
however theres no guarantee it will work, as it could be something -else-
