another issue solved (feel free to delete)

Post by nym »

doing a lot of tests with my up and running midisense.

i am still troubleshooting this issue, but i am having a hard time sending midi info from my midisense to a piece of equipment other than my computer. i am attempting to send midi to my mpc1000 and for some reason it is not reading the incoming data at all.

any ideas? i dread hearing that midisense only sends to a computer, but that can't be the case.

more information.

i connected midisense to midiox via my usb-midi cable.
i attached a rotary potentiometer to analog input 5, cc 74 (brightness).
tweaking the rotary works: i can assign the cc in Reaper and Reason.
in midi ox, there is evidence of the cc being tweaked. all is well there.

i then detach midisense from the usb-midi cable and plug my mpc into my usb-midi cable instead. hitting pads shows notes and aftertouch messages in midi ox. all is well there, too.

now, using a regular midi cable, i connect the OUT from midisense to the IN of the mpc. tweaking the rotary makes the midi activity light flash green. however, no midi data is recorded/seen by the MPC.

this is unlike my midi keyboard, which has sliders/knobs. these send recordable midi ccs to the mpc.

now wih more details, any ideas?
