Newbie enclosure questions

Postby Brandi » Sat Jun 30, 2012 3:38 am

I see some of you have used Dremel tools to cut out the space for the USB plug without using the basic U-shaped cut suggested in the original LadyAda instructions.

I may be getting hold of a Dremel in the next couple weeks and while I'm not completely unfamiliar with the tool it's been a long time since I've used one. Any tips you could pass on to me (what attachments would be best, f'rex)?

And, for that matter, what methods did you find best for guessing hole placement?

Any help will be appreciated!

You mean the cut-off wheels, or those cutting bits that look like items C&D in this picture?

The wheels would work - but be very careful, since they are brittle. I prefer the diamond cutoff wheels

Your cutter "E" would probably work. And maybe cutter 'D' to touch up any rough edges.

Thank you.

More than likely, I will have the cutoff wheels but maybe not the other stuff. Won't know until I dig the tool out of the family house! :)
