MintyBoost v3.0 iPod Touch g5

Built up a couple of MintyBoost's this week
Neither of them will charge my kid's iPod touch's.
I get the beautiful "Charging is not supported with this accessory" from both devices and both MintyBoost's.
Voltage across the outer pins of the USB plug (according to my cheap radioshack DVM) is 4.92
Voltage from negative to either of the data pins is 1.92

Any ideas?
Future enhancements?

Found this post http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16699
and started working through the issues for a 3gs.

Just tested with one of my boosts and one of the ipods.
Jumpering the 2 data pins had no effect

Globbed some solder between the ground and one of the USB mounting clips.
This appears to have solved my issue.

Would it be out of line to suggest grounding the USB plug in v3.1 ?

I'm no soldering expert (far from it..), but there looks like there are some cold solder joints, either that; or the quality of the picture is making it look so.

I also assume you mean 4th Generation?

banned, those solder connections i suspect are fine. Its just pixelation from the close up of the camera. And its a good sugestion to ground the USB case in the next MB version. It has solved charging problems for other people in the past, not just you..if im not mistaken it was that way in one of the past versions as well...1.2 maybe?
