I don't have an iPhone 5, but it charges my 4S. Whether on not you can get better than a 20% charge depends on what type of batteries you use. 10-20% is about all you can expect from a pair of AA's. Some people have been using D cells - you can get pretty much a full charge from a pair of those.

Thx! Maybe someone with iPhone 5 could confirm this.

Else, with the MintyBoosts I've made for my friends so far, some of them don't work with the iPhone 4(S) of my friends. A quick test shows that my iPhone is on iOS 6.1.2 while those that don't work are on 6.1.3. Now, could this be a reason for the failure?

(MintyBoost with two or three AAs - work fine with my [email protected], but not with their 4/4S/5 @ 6.1.3)

I'm charging my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.3) as I type this. I can typically get an increase of about 20 percentage points from a pair of fresh Copper Top AAs.

I've got iOS 6.1.3 on my 4S, and my minty will charge it.
