Looking at the parts list for the MintyBoost kit, it mentions the LT1302CN8-5 at this link: http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/parts.html BUT, the picture it shows in that row is for a Maxim MAX756CPA. I was looking at the datasheets for those 2 boost chips and they do not look pin compatible. Is this a mistake in the picture, a mistake on my part? Are they interchangeable on the V3 MintyBoost PCB?
on the LTN1302 datasheet:
Pin 1: GND
Pin 2: Vc
Pin 3: SHDN
Pin 4: FB/Sense
Pin 5: IT
Pin 6: Vin
Pin 7: SW
Pin 8: PGND
On the MAX756 datasheet:
Pin 1: SHDN
Pin 2: 3/5
Pin 3: Ref
Pin 4: LBO
Pin 5: LBI
Pin 6: Out
Pin 7: GND
Pin 8: Lx

Re: question about kit part - the boost chip
The original version of the MintyBoost used the Maxim chip. Current versions use the LT1302. There is a section of the tutorial that discusses changes between different versions.
