MintyBoost and alkaline 2AA

Post by 4public »

Hi
Just assembled MintyBoost (not from the kit) and put 2 new alkaline batteries.
Test without charging:
Battery output voltage : 3.12V
USB output voltage: 4.98V

Test with Flash MP3 player charging (player's indicator shows that it is charging):
Battery output voltage : 2.07V
USB output voltage: 4.24V

Is it normal?
Who has an idea why currency goes down in the charging mode?

Thanks for the advise
P.

its going down because the mp3 player is almost out of battery (?) and its drawing a LOT of current. it should be OK, does the device charge?

My mp3 player (iAudio U3) was 99% charged when I connected MintyBoost with new batteries. At that moment I checked current second time. As soon as I disconnect charging process, current is becoming normal again
Tomorrow I will try with another player.
