6 cell MintyBoost

I have a galaxy Note 2 and was thinking about making a mintyboost for my phone. I currently own an Energizer Energi to go Xpal Power 4001, which seems to do a pretty good job of charging the phone. I am worried because recently the pack started flashing the LED light from red to green when it was finished charging. I have another Xpal 4001 which does not do that. I am thinking that my pack is starting to go bad.

Back to the mintyboost. I am thinking of using 6 cells for my mintyboost. at 1.44 volts, that is 4.32 total volts. I would create a series parallel circuit so that I have lots of capacity to charge this massive 3100Mah battery. Essentially I am looking at 3 battery pack at 4.32 volts. Wiring up two 3 battery packs in parallel would give me 4600mah charging capacity.

Thoughts or comments on this. Should I go with a lipo battery instead? Then I have to worry about recharging the battery. Where would I get a lipo battery and charger to put in the mintyboost?

Wiring batteries directly in parallel without balancing circuitry is not a good idea. Minor differences in internal resistance will result in one or the other doing most of the work. Better to go with LiPos. We have several chargers, and cells up to 6600mAh. (yes, the 6600 mAh battery is made up of 3 cells in parallel, but they are factory matched and incorporate a balancing circuit)
