MINTYBOOST & SOLAR LIPOLY CHARGER QUESTION

Post by awit »

Does the following make any sense? I want switch between the 2 AA Minty boost batteries or the LIPO Solar/Battery (Adafruit Fritzing Library does not have Product ID: 390).

and is the Capacitor necessary/useful to smooth out the power when sources are changed?

I can't see your diagram so I don't know where you are putting the capacitor. If you are trying to achieve a seamess switchover, a cap on the output if the Minty might help. But that depends on how sensitive you load is.

A capacitor there should smooth the transition a bit. The Minty won't care, but it might help keep your load happy.
