Dongle cable backward

Post by worm959 »

I had problems connecting with my parallel dongle, it checked out using the software test, the board looked OK, but I could not connect. It turned out my cable had one end flipped:

Rather than mess with the cable I flipped one of the plugs (header).
After flipping the plug the SpokePOV connected fine. Caveat maker!

!! thats is annoying. we have the cables made. they're almost always OK :(
you can clip a piece of the plastic out of the connector, that will make things easy for now

I just wish I noticed it earlier. Of course I checked misassembly or poor soldering on my part first, then tried a second computer, then the forum, etc. That's why I posted, to give the next person the suggestion to check it. :)

Cheers,

Jim

...if long to put right a device, all connecting can be made " with the closed eyes"
