I think your SpokePOV design is elegant, well thought out, and well laid out. When building this project and reviewing the schematic it is obvious that this design has 0% body fat. That is why I am curious about the lonely resistor R1. R1 is the pull-up resistor for the ee_cs connection on the eeprom.
The reference doc from Atmel doesn't indicate the need for a pull-up resistor.

I seem to remember that this was a "best practice" from one of my design classes but I was wondering if there was problem with a prototype that caused you to add this.
It's not a problem if you don't remember I was just curious.
