Questions for a new user

Some things I would like to know:

Im going to buy a SPOKEPOV (1 spoke) and I was curious, do I need the 'rare earth' magnet? What does it do?

Also, would the SPOKEPOV come apart at 27 MPH?

it has been tested at 30mph. as long as it is *well secured* it should be OK
