Spokes are loading images fine from the software. I would call it a success! :) Now it's time to design some fun wheels. Is there a way to design and save .dat files without connecting to a spoke?

Hi..
just got my SpokePov kit and soldered up a board.. plugged it in and a similar prob to these two posters. the usb dongle lights up and is recognised by the 'puter ok, but i tried the steps they took and no joy. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong.
I did the port test and the dongle doesn't have consistent voltage anywhere in the box header. it jumps around from .01-.05 when i test pin 1.
i'm new to all this but think that i got it fairly right, maybe i shorted sumthing?? any suggestions would b great.
Cheers :D
Umm.. I think I broke it....

okay, so i built another spoke tonight and same problem, i can't communicate with the board when i plug it in. this makes me think i stuffed up the dongle.
when i do the port test only the dataout pin doesn't show voltage. the others are fine.. does this mean i should possibly try to replace the r6 resistor??
once again i'm sorry for the simpleton explanation as i'm new to this.
Cheers

if all the other pins go from 0 to 5v except that one, its probably a soldering thing. look at the PCB and see if you can find a bad solder joint?
