Double the spokepovs, double the brightness?

Post by bikefreak »

Assuming you use the same leds on all of your spokepovs, does the image brightness of, say, 3 spoke povs, double when instead you have 6 spokepovs on 1 wheel?

Thanks for the reply.

Does the image quality, sharpness, or resolution change at all with more and more spokepovs?

Ya the brightness scales linearally with the number of sticks but keep in mind that day light is something like 1000 times brighter than inside normal lighting. The point being that daylight is so incredibly bright it's difficult to make a display that looks impressive next to our sun.

Thanks a lot for the pictures. My goal is not to make it look impressive, but as visible as a paper poster is in sunlight. I see a lot of billboards which use leds and they are visible in the sunlight.
