Couldn't you just connect the switch and the batteries via wires, then pot the whole thing in epoxy and then glue the switch on.

The batteries for all of the spoke-pov's could be attached to a single water proof battery holder. You might be able to get a micro pelican case onto a wheel. Small one is 4-7/16 x 2-15/16 x 1-11/16 and only $13

I mean you can't ever replace parts once the whole thing is potted, but it would definitely be waterproof.

Ya I think that would work. You'd have the added benefit of only having to change one set of batteries but would make the installation more permanent. I've just decided not to ride in the rain on on wet roads, on those days I drive my car. The potting would add weight, but less than the weight of the batteries.
