I'm having some problems geting the spokepov software to recognize the USB, its keeps on saying "Failed to open the port". Here are the pics of my soldered USB version 2:

Look okay?
Here is what has happened thus far...
1. At some instance I could see the red light and another time I saw the green light. I guess this is a good sign.
2. I tried the USB on 2 different computers with no luck (one windows laptop, one intel mac)
3. I tried 2 different spokepov bars on 2 different computers. With each bar I tested them with batteries and without batteries (using jumper).
4. I used the latest spokepov software and, when on windows, installed the drivers.
5. I did the comm delay from 4,000-10,000 in 1,000 intervals

the back of the kit is way too messy...there's probably all sorts of wires touching each other
it should look like this:

invest in high quality diagonal cutters

Thanks. I haven't clipped off the wires, but I did notice that 2 of the wires were touching each other. When I made sure everything was by itself it worked.ladyada wrote:the back of the kit is way too messy...there's probably all sorts of wires touching each other
