8 leds not working on battery side

Post by staticguy »

I just put my first one together last night and 8 leds on battery side, above RN3 and IC5 do not light up.

Everything else works fine. The dongle worked and i was able to update the images, and other than the blank spot it is too cool.

I checked the traces with a meter and the resistor pack looks fine, and there is nothing shorting out anywhere.

Did I fry IC5 installing it? I have 2 more kits so i can swap it out, but don't want to if that's not the bad part.

They all work fine. Both in the chase on powerup and in displaying images.

I just built up an other one and it's working fine.

Maybe I shorted out R3 on the spokes when i installed it. It is a flat areo spoke that could get right up next to the contacts.

I warped the spoke in electrical tape this time before installing the new one.

it def sounds like the resistor pack is damaged and -not- the latch. they're much easier to replace, which is good!
