Whats goin on, spokePOV newb here. I have 3 kits with the blue LEDs. Its actually for my senior design project and we had to make the board ourselves. I used the most recent schematic from the downloads section and it does not mention the two caps that came with my kit. I searched and saw that the ceramic one is not an issue:

just wanted to verify that the cylindrical one (dielectric?) was optional as well.
The program i used for making/routing the board was PADs Layout and PADs Router. If anyone wants the files i can post them. My board came out about 2x the size of the one from the kit but our instructor made us use HUUGE traces.
2 capacitors not mentioned in schematic

stability is relevant to my interests. If its not too much trouble, could you point out on the png schematic where they should be placed?ladyada wrote:they are power decoupling cap
they were added in the most recent revision. while not -essential- they do help stability.
