IoT printer problems

Postby bgaffney » Sat Jun 23, 2012 3:38 pm

Hello!

I've recently built this kit, and have had difficulty in managing to output proper printouts. I have gotten it to print out, and corrected the baud rate, however something caught my eye. I noticed, on the test print (for the simple printer kit), it only prints out Adafruit!, and none of the fonts or other text above it. I checked the actual printer's start up printout (where I could find the baud rate and version) and was given these specs-

Degree: 34 Voltage: 5.4
Heat Dot= 80 On= 1100 OFF= 100
Version 2.64 2012-04-09
SN12050900

It seemed to me that some of these differ from those I've seen before, most notably the version number. As the formatting seems to be the incorrect end of things, can it be that the library is outdated on the newest printers? Or am I missing something else? Please let me know if there is more information/pictures/etc. I can provide to ease the diagnoses.

Thanks,
Brendan

do you get a font table when you hold the button down while powering up?

Yes, there was a font table. I seem to have fixed the problem, by playing with the Baud rate and wiping the code and reloading it.

I also realized, and this is not your problem, but the IoT assistant's code is mafunctioning on my arduino and producing unformatted text. I don't know if having that loaded onto the machine, than swapping that sketch out for your test sketch could have caused this, but we'll see. I've contacted the people over at new international about their code. I hope its not just me!

Thanks for the help!
