TTL Serial Camera - Motion Detection sketch issue

Postby renasis » Thu Aug 09, 2012 11:23 pm

Hello,

I purchased the jpeg camera. I have been able to take pictures, so I know it works, but when I try the motion control sketch I get the following:

VC0706 Camera test
Camera Found:
-----------------
VC0703 1.00
Ctrl infr exist
User-defined sensor
525
-----------------
Image size: Motion detection is OFF

My configuration is pretty simple, so not sure what the issue is. I am running with uno/sd shield from sparkfun/proto shield with camera attached. The SS pin of the sd shield is re-wired to pin 10. I have the camera pins wired as follows rx=3,tx=2, power=5V, and ground=to duino ground. I am using the Arduino 1.0 IDE(I also tried with 1.01, but same result). I downloaded the most recent version of the code of github. Any ides on what the issue might be?

Thanks,

-ren

In the sketch you are running, is the right line un-commented to turn the motion-detect on as below?

Code: Select all
//  Motion detection system can alert you when the camera 'sees' motion!
  cam.setMotionDetect(true);           // turn it on
//cam.setMotionDetect(false);        // turn it off   (default)

Yes, I checked that already. Any other ideas?

Fortunately, I ordered a new camera this week. I gave the sketch another try w/new camera, worked great. There must be a setting on the old camera that I must have inadvertently changed.
