I was having trouble getting the .inf loaded, and this thread helped me.

I had a different issue, The Rev my bootloader was reporting is 0002 not 0001, and modifying the .inf to use "REV_0002" worked for me:
USB\VID_239A&PID_0001&REV_0002

Hi,
I just got the ATmega32u4 BreakoutBoard, but I can't install the hardware. When I connect it via USB, the Power LED turns red and the Boot LED pulses in green, which seems correct. But Windows can't find the right driver. I downloaded the .inf file, but when i want to install it, an error pops up saying: "This installation method is not supported by the selected inf-file".
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I'm using Windows 7, 64bit.
I'd be thankful for any support.

Not having any luck reproducing this here. Have you tried changing the rev# to REV_0002 in the inf file as in the previous post? http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19075#p139508

Changing the rev# didn't help. Maybe I made some mistake downloading the .inf file. I got it from here:
http://www.adafruit.com/datasheets/atmega32u4cdc.inf
and just copied the text to the editor and then saved it as atmega32u4cdc.inf to my desktop.

Yay! I just got it to install by doing the following:
device manager > choose the not identified hardware > Hardware > settings > change settings > update driver software > then browse the computer for the .inf file and choose
It asked me wether I'm sure I want to use this software because it couldn't be identified, so maybe that's why it couldn't be installed automatically.
Thanks though for your help!

Hey,
Just a gentle prod, the .inf on the download section of the site is still not compatible with the most recent version of the hardware (tested on Win7x64 here). The solution given by the gentleman residing near the hellmouth in Redmond, WA works perfectly (Just add ", USB\VID_239A&PID_0001&REV_0002"). Thanks larryvc!
