Microtouch: sensitive or buggy?

Postby raygeeknyc » Sat Feb 26, 2011 7:26 pm

Hi
I just received and powered up my Microtouch v.2.4 and it seems that the Touchscreen is a bit buggy - If I launch the paint app, I'm treated to a few large dots at the top and while I can press and paint, it seems that there are phantom presses causing other strokes to appear.

I ran the callibrate app and then the Hw Test. The HwTest shows coordinates even when I am not pressing the screen, sometimes it is the last coordinates I pressed but if I just sit and watch it will beginf to flash a series of X and Y coordinates but not that it is being pressed.

It's possible that this is a firmware or other known issue, so I figured I'd check here before declaring it defective.

Anyone?

No I am not making contact with the glass at all - it's resting on the board, that on my hand

It's not, but I've tried that now as well - no better - well actually it's worse :( - the touchscreen is completely unresponsive in that position. I'm guessing that there are some loose connections somewhere in the arrangement.
