TTL Serial Camera doesn't seem to be getting power

Postby gryphonbot » Tue Jan 10, 2012 8:54 pm

I don’t think my TTL serial camer is getting power. I connect it to
my Arduino’s 5V and GND pins, but nothing. I get no image on the
composite video connection to my TV either. My soldering looks fine, but just to be sure I even re-did the solder for 5V and GND and still get nothing. Do you
think the unit is bad? Hoping you can help. 8)

The soldering does look fine there. And the other ends of the wires are connected as below for NTSC video output?

Not sure what the pinouts are on the RCA jack in your photo. Make sure that the black wire has continuity to the outer shield and the yellow wire to the center contact on the jack.

The wires are connected to the proper pins.

I received this camera and I am having similar issues. I get no output video from the composite video. Below are images of my soldering job.

Can you show how you have the other ends of those wires connected?

I have tested that the RCA jack is wired correctly with a separate video source and I know that the power source works and puts out 5V. Not sure why I don't get an image.

Those connections look fine. Contact support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread and ask for a replacement camera.

that breadboard might have a split power rail, move the power wires to right next to the regulator.

The power supply gives power to both rails. I have tested with a multimeter that the camera is receiving 5V.
